Who is John the Baptist in Islam?
John the Baptist was a Jewish preacher in the early 1st century AD. He was the son of Zechariah (Zakariya) and Elizabeth (also Elisabeth). Many faiths, especially Abrahamic religions, revere John. In Islam, he is a prophet and the son of a prophet (Zechariah) and his life stories have been mentioned in the Quran.
