No doubt, you have heard words and phrases like, end times, doomsday, savior, Armageddon, the final battle, the second coming of Jesus, antichrist, fake messiah and Dajjal. All these words and phrases are common in the fact that all are about the end of the world events. The ultimate destiny of humanity has been a challenging and at the same time an interesting subject for humans throughout history. Each religions and ideologies has its own account. There are many prophecies about what will be awaiting humanity in the last days of the world such as the second coming of Jesus. The study of these matters is called ‘Eschatology’. This concept is commonly referred to as the “end of the world” or “end times”.
Islam, as the second largest religion of the world, has its own take on the end of the world. Islamic sources, including Quran and Hadith, have elaborated on this matter. Islamic eschatology is mostly documented in the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad and other early Islamic leaders, regarding the Signs of the Day of Judgement. The sayings on the subject have been traditionally divided into Major and Minor Signs.
